Norman Cohen was appointed to the Commission in 1999 and reappointed in 2005.
Commissioner Cohen holds a Juris Doctor degree from Georgetown University Law School. Commissioner Cohen retired from the
United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in 1989, following a 27-year career. During his career in USAID, he
worked extensively with international development programs, focusing on environmental organizations, family health and financial
engineering.
Commissioner Cohen served as a volunteer for HOC for many years, teaching personal financial management to participants in
HOC’s housing programs.
He is also Chairman Emeritus of the Lafayette Federal Credit Union.
Commissioner Cohen’s term expires in August 2010.
