Roberto R. Piñero was appointed to the Commission in September 2003.
Commissioner Piñero holds a Masters degree in Sociology from the University of Wisconsin and a Masters in City Planning in
City and Regional Planning from Harvard University. He is currently a senior analyst for the Financial Management and Community
Investment Division of the U.S. General Accounting Office.
Commissioner Piñero's passion for housing issues dates back to 1975, when he was Director of the Housing Element, Planning
Board for the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.
Commissioner Piñero was elected Chair Pro Tem in 2005 and Vice Chair in 2007. His term expires in August 2013.
