	The Housing Opportunities Commission (HOC) of Montgomery County, Maryland seeks an individual with proven leadership and communication skills for the position of Executive Director. HOC is a progressive and enterprising public service agency responsible for developing, managing and financing affordable and public housing; as well as providing related social services for the residents of Montgomery County. The Executive Director is responsible for the direction, leadership and management of a complex organization with a $200 Million operating budget, a $100 million capital budget and 350 employees in a union environment. The Agency has an extensive housing portfolio that consists of over 20,000 units owned, managed, administered or financed by HOC, including 5800 Housing Choice Voucher units and 1500 Public Housing units. HOC is also a Housing Finance Agency with over $1 Billion in outstanding Mortgage Revenue Bonds. For more information please visit our website at www.hocmc.org. The Executive Director position requires a strong leader who is mission focused, visionary and innovative. HOC is looking for a candidate with strong financial management skills (including understanding of bond financing), exceptional interpersonal skills and extensive management experience in progressively responsible public/non-profit or private industry positions. A background in affordable housing challenges and issues is desirable, related private industry experience is acceptable. Experience operating in a highly regulated multi-faceted politically sensitive field and experience interacting with local, state and federal officials is required.
