DESCRIPTION
& MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: This is a senior level professional position
responsible for development activities in the Real Estate division. Will negotiate the purchase of land and the
purchase of existing apartment buildings suitable for low and moderate income
housing for HOC and manage and monitor the rehabilitation of those units and
negotiate project financing from private, county, state and federal sources. The work requires extensive planning and
coordination with HOC employees, outside consultants and representatives of
other government agencies and private organizations. Will be responsible for
project management activities of professional staff and consultants. Requires
BA/BS in a related field, Master’s degree preferred. Must have five years of increasingly
responsible experience in real estate development, real estate finance, land
planning or related field. Experience in
multifamily housing, both sales and rental properties and decision-making
experience involving professional level employees desired. Must be proficient in multifamily housing
finance and the use of Excel. Knowledge of all phases of housing
development including private and government housing finance programs; bond
financing; federal, state and local programs and regulations regarding the
development of low and moderate priced housing; principles and practices of
the real estate field; housing construction and construction budgeting
helpful. Requires the ability to communicate clearly both orally and in
writing and make presentations to HOC Commissioners and represent HOC on
panels and in Congressional communications. An equivalent
combination of education and experience may be accepted. Low income residents in HOC
conducts criminal background checks, employment reference checks, and where
applicable, reviews driving records in determining suitability for
employment. Selected applicants will
be required to submit to pre-employment drug and alcohol screening. Employment is contingent upon drug and
alcohol test results. |
