POSITION TITLE:	Resource Specialist – Supportive Housing Resident Services, Kensington, MD
DESCRIPTION & MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: This position is responsible for assisting clients with locating and applying for benefits. Will ensure that participants have all the services to which they are entitled and that they remain housed and in good standing. Will provide limited case aide support to mentally ill adults by participating in friendly visits, shopping and assisting with food and organization. Must maintain the unit database of resources and assist participants who are taking advantage of them. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent plus two years of college or technical training, Bachelor’s degree preferred, and a minimum of two years experience in Social Services, housing, or subsidized housing programs. Must have knowledge about all entitlement programs and how to get participants enrolled. Must have good oral and written communication skills, have the ability to work independently and exercise good judgment; good computer skills (Word & Excel), a good driving record, and transportation required. Bi-lingual preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted. Low income residents in Montgomery County with the above qualifications are encouraged to apply. This is a one-year term position with full benefits; position may be continued based on funding. Funding has been continuous.
