POSITION TITLE:	Resident Counselor III – Youth Services HOC Family Resource Centers Montgomery County, MD
DESCRIPTION & MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: This position will develop, implement and evaluate programs for children and teenagers living in subsidized housing in Montgomery County, MD. Work as part of a service team with other professionals. Will keep records and statistics and generate reports. Will oversee teen groups, homework programs, arts and crafts and outdoor recreational activities and will transport youth to activities in an agency vehicle. Work with Montgomery County agencies such as MCPS, CPS, DJS, MCPD and CPS. Requires Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Recreation or related field (MSW preferred) and a minimum of three years experience. Must enjoy working with children and teens. Experience working with children in a non-traditional setting is a plus. Ability to relate well to people with diverse backgrounds and cultures. Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills, have the ability to work independently and exercise good judgment; good computer skills (Word & Excel), a good driving record and transportation required. Must be willing to work flexible hours including some evenings and weekends. Bi-lingual (Spanish/English) a plus. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted.
