Family Resource Centers (FRCs) serve as valuable places
for low-income children, young adults, and families to participate in
counseling, education, employment training, tutoring, recreational,
health, career counseling, Tae Kwon Do, anti-drug, and anti-violence
programs. The sites also serve as centers to enlist participation in
such well-known programs as the Olney and Rockville Boys and Girls Clubs,
the Girl Scouts, Montgomery Youth Works and others.
Each center offers its own schedule
of activities based on the needs and desires of the community. Centers
operate up to 12 hours a day, six days a week to provide services
convenient to those at home and in the work force.
Residents are encouraged not only to participate in programs, but to
volunteer their own skills to help with the center operations.
