A critical shortage of affordable housing in Montgomery County affects a growing number of low and moderate income earners. In Montgomery County, more than 10,000 families have joined HOC’s waiting lists for affordable rental housing subsidies.  A recent survey conducted by the Maryland National Capital Park and Planning Commission showed that middle-class households in search of housing  are being priced out of Montgomery County.  “Housing Day in Annapolis” is held to educate lawmakers on this issue.
