LOCAL PANCAKE RESTAURANT TO SERVE XMAS BREAKFAST TO ELDERLY RESIDENTS OF SUBSIDIZED HOUSING AND AREA SHELTER RESIDENTS

More than 350 Guests Expected at 8th Annual Xmas Breakfast Donated by Bethesda Restaurant Owner

Close to 100 elderly residents of Waverly House in Bethesda, Md., an elderly public housing residence owned by the Housing Opportunities Commission (HOC), will be part of a group treated to a free Christmas breakfast at the Original Pancake House located at 7700 Wisconsin Ave. in Bethesda.

“Mr. Bulman’s generosity reflects the true holiday spirit,” said Scott Minton, Executive Director of the Housing Opportunities Commission. “We appreciate his effort and thank him for making Xmas day a special one for our elderly residents.”

Residents of area shelters and others in need will also be served pancakes and eggs for the 8th consecutive year, according to Original Pancake House owner Jeff Bulman, a Bethesda resident. More than 350 persons are expected to attend the breakfast on Christmas morning from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.

An additional 200 needy families and individuals will receive a free Xmas breakfast at the restaurant’s Falls Church, Va. location.

Eggs and coffee for the event were donated by the restaurant’s suppliers. George Hammond, a longtime customer of the restaurant, will oversee the event in Bethesda, supervising a group of volunteers who will serve the meal.
