GOVERNOR EHRLICH UNVEILS AFFORDABLE HOUSING INITIATIVES AT AFFORDABLE
HOUSING CONFERENCE, MARCH 10, 2003![]() On Monday, March 10, 2003 Maryland Governor Robert Ehrlich announced several affordable housing initiatives which will benefit the Housing Opportunities Commission and Montgomery County. Shown above at the conference, of which HOC is a co-sponsor, are: (L to R) HOC Chair Richard Nelson, Secretary of Housing and Community Development Victor Hoskins; HOC Executive Director Scott Minton and Governor Robert Ehrlich. During an afternoon session at the Affordable Housing Conference, Governor Ehrlich announced a $20 million state bond cap allocation to HOC over the next two years. He also announced his decision to issue an Executive Order to establish a statewide housing commission. The commission will be comprised of leaders in the housing community from around the state and will call upon those leaders to create a vision for affordable housing in Maryland for the 21st Century. |
