HOC held its first “Success Through RAD” event on Friday, March 4, 2016. At the event, HOC shared news about the agency’s RAD projects and recognized the support of partners such as HUD, Montgomery County and Harkins Builders. These partners and HOC staff have worked tremendously hard on financing, development and resident outreach for each RAD property.

The event was live-streamed from Waverly House to HOC offices in Kensington, Gaithersburg and Silver Spring. Speakers included HOC Chair Sally Roman, Montgomery County Councilmember Hans Riemer, Suzanne Lofhjelm from Chris Van Hollen's office, Director of HUD's D.C. field office Marvin Turner, Director of HUD's Office of Recapitalization Tom Davis, HOC Chief Investment and Real Estate Officer Kayrine Brown, Paul Connolly from R4 Capital, and Rich Mazzocchi from Boston Capital.

The event concluded with the commencement of renovations at Waverly House by knocking down doors, cabinets and fixtures inside one unit with golden sledgehammers.
