The Housing Opportunities Commission operates an in-house Temporary Staffing Pool to meet its contingent staffing needs. Skilled individuals in search of short term, or intermittent, employment may apply with the Human Resources Office to be considered for future assignments.
Types of assignments that HOC has recently filled through temporary staffing include:
Volunteers & Interns Opportunities
Both individuals & groups may serve as volunteers for HOC. Our volunteers play a significant role in contributing to HOC's ability to reach our goals through providing increased or expanded services to residents and clients and administrative, technical and clerical assistance to staff.
In addition, volunteers serve as advocates for HOC, helping to increase community understanding and cooperation.
Volunteers are an important part of our team and therefore, individuals interested in serving as volunteers are interviewed and screened prior to placement.
All applicants must provide three (3) quality work references. Employment is contingent upon review and examination of any and all arrest, trial and other criminal records. In addition, HOC policy requires pre-employment drug and alcohol screening for all prospective new employees. Applicants selected for employment will be required to submit to pre-employment drug testing and alcohol screening, with a verified negative result, as a condition of employment.
Administrative support applicants will be tested on skills and proficiency in software.
Individuals with housing experience seeking temporary positions are always encouraged to apply.
