The Housing Opportunities Commission of Montgomery County (HOC) is embarking on an exciting new program for those residents currently living in multifamily Public Housing. The agency is participating in the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD) Program in order to access private funding for the purpose of rehabilitating the units. To date, nine HOC properties have been approved by HUD for the RAD program.
In September 2013, HOC began conducting a series of informational meetings to help its multi-family and clustered Public Housing residents to better understand HUD’s Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD) Program. During the meetings, HOC relays important information about the program, the process, and its impact on residents. Resident Meetings will continue to take place during the rehabilitaion process.
The purpose of this page is to keep HOC stakeholders constantly informed during its transition from Public Housing to Project-Based Vouchers through the RAD program; however, it is specifically designed for the households affected by the conversion.
Property specific key developments, start and completion dates, vital contact information, and when possible, pictures or samples are provided in the Fact Sheet for all phases of the project. The information presented will inform residents about RAD and will help them engage with the agency throughout the transition process. All RAD-related information pertaining to HOC can be located on this page.
Please bookmark this page and check back for the latest RAD updates affecting your property. The page will be updated on an "as needed" basis. A weekly visit to the RAD webpage is recommended to ramin informed on all developments.
