Board Members’ Roles and Responsibilities

• Review and know the HOC’s mission, purpose, goals, policies,  programs, services, strengths, weaknesses, and needs;
• Monitor the Commission’s activities and help keep it on track;
• Monitor staff’s activities through their reports and presentations;
• Be willing and able to participate in RAB meetings, special events, committees or sub-committees and share information with fellow residents;
• Ask questions and maintain objectivity and impartiality;
• Maintain a sense of fairness and high standards of ethics;
• Support the majority decision on all issues decided by the RAB;
• Stay Informed.

RAB Meetings

             Regular RAB meetings are held once monthly, on the third Monday of each month except August and holidays which fall on the Monday meeting day.  In such cases, the regular meeting will be held on the fourth Monday.  The location of the meeting is usually at the HOC headquarters building, but can be held at any location decided on by the body. RAB meetings are open to the public unless an executive session is called which is exclusively for RAB members.  Executive sessions are called when there are personnel or other confidential matters to be discussed.
