Job Description:

This position is responsible for assuring the proper service delivery and high quality of interior and exterior maintenance through the direct supervision of maintenance and custodial staff for assigned properties. This position is responsible for ensuring the continued proper functionality of all mechanical and electrical equipment, including HVAC systems, plumbing, carpentry, appliance repair, and the general property upkeep and curb appeal of assigned properties.  This employee must be fully capable of performing maintenance tasks at a highly skilled level and to educate and train staff on proper procedures.  The incumbent in this position is required to perform the aforementioned tasks and complete the necessary work on an as needed or as required basis.  Will also be responsible for mentoring, coaching, training and development to meet agency goals by creating an environment that drives improvement. Will establish employee goals and conduct employee performance reviews.  Responsible for group communication and various management reporting.  In concert with the Director of Maintenance and others, will be responsible for overseeing budget, quality control, performance and reporting for the Maintenance Division.

 

Candidates may also be required to undergo a skills assessment to determine competence in the various trades.

Preferred Skills:

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Minimum of five years’ experience in the maintenance of multifamily dwellings to include electrical, plumbing, heating, venting, and air conditioning systems as well as interior and exterior building maintenance. 
  • A minimum of an Associate of Arts Degree in a maintenance trade, or multiple completion of Certificates for classes attended, or 
  • Licenses or/registrations in the maintenance trades or the equivalent.
  • Previous demonstrated Maintenance Supervisory experience required.  
  • Must have advanced knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, carpentry and electrical skills.
  • Must have the ability to lift heavy objects (50 – 100 lbs.).  
  • Must have the ability to deal tactfully, effectively and courteously with the public and co-workers. 
  • Must have the ability to use Microsoft Suite.  Yardi experience is a plus.  
  • Valid driver's license, good driving record and own transportation required.
  • Bilingual skills preferred.
