HOC is here to help you achieve your homeownership goals! Join us for an exciting informational session to learn all about the new Homebuyer Advantage Club. This program designed to guide and reward you on your journey to homeownership. During this session, we'll discuss how the club works, review the valuable services and resources available to members, and learn how your participation can earn rewards that contribute directly toward your home purchase.

Please join us for a fun afternoon of Holiday Arts & Crafts & Pizza (this event is for residents of The Lindley).

Need to know how to find and navigate available resources? Resident Services will host monthly resource sharing sessions. This is an opportunity for participants to learn about available resources in Montgomery County and at HOC, including food resources, wellness, financial assistance resources for emergencies, employment, tuition assistance, etc. The sessions are offered on the third Tuesday of each month in the evening. Staff will provide information on how to navigate services. This will also provide a space for participants to inquire about their resource needs. In addition, this will be an opportunity for participants to learn about the services offered by the Resident Services Division. Must register online to participate. Registered participants will receive virtual instructions.

Everyone needs safe, decent and stable housing. This interactive workshop focuses on the agency’s mission in keeping residents housed in the various housing programs that the Housing Opportunities Commission has to offer. The workshop attempts to empower participants with information that will assist them in being successful with housing. The workshop combines effective strategies and information on available resources that can help a resident to successfully maintain his/her housing. Participants will develop a better understanding of his/her housing program and guidelines and the rights and responsibilities outlined in a lease. Must register online to participate. Registered participants will receive virtual instructions.

Join us as we break down the basics of filing, refunds, and smart tax tips you can use right away. Whether you are filing for the first time or just want to feel more confident about the process, you don’t want to miss this workshop. We will also share community resources to help with filing and addressing old tax concerns at no cost.

This is a festive STEM event for the whole family! There will be interactive STEM stations from E-Sports and other gamer activities to creating beauty and cosmetic products while learning about the chemistry involved.

Celebrate the winter holiday season with HOC as we host our Annual Holiday Store. This year we are including a Winter Coat Distribution! Parents/Guardians will be able to choose a coat for a participating child.

The Holiday Store event is designed for children to select special holiday gifts for their parent(s) or guardian(s). All gifts are free. Children will receive shopping instructions upon arrival. Light refreshments will be served.

Please note that parents must accompany their children during this event. Registration is required and slots are limited.
