This fun, five-day hands-on camp is perfect for middle and high school students who are eager to explore the world of robotics and STEM — and prepare for the future. Participants will be immersed in a project-based learning environment where they will build, code, and drive their own robots. The program is structured to provide a well-rounded introduction to the core competencies needed for success in competitions such as the FIRST Tech Robotics Competition (FTC).
The Chemistry in Cosmetics Program teaches Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) in cosmetics. The program blends art, science and self-care to help youth explore creativity, confidence and self-expression through beauty science projects and reflective art.
Ignite your young person's entrepreneurial spark at Dare to Dream ESTEAM. During this two-week course, 15 middle school students will be guided to define their own purpose-driven business idea and explore fundamentals of marketing, budgeting and customer discovery. They will collaborate in creative workshops on prototyping, branding, and pitching, as well as receive one-on-one mentorship from seasoned entrepreneurs. At the program's conclusion each camper will present a polished mini pitch for their business idea — and possess the tools, confidence and community support to turn their dream into reality. Participants will learn how to record and mix music, create beats, operate studio equipment, and develop their own creative projects. On the video side, students will explore filming techniques, camera operation, lighting, editing, and content creation for social media and digital platforms. The program encourages teamwork, creativity, and technical skill development while giving students real-world experience in the music and media industries.

The Drone Robotics Middle School Mash Up program is a week-long robotics and coding experience that offers middle school students an assortment of STEM-focused hands-on and engaging activities led by Escape Velocity Academy.
Do you need know how to find and navigate available resources? Resident Services will host monthly resource sharing sessions monthly. This is an opportunity for participants to learn about available resources in Montgomery County and at HOC to include food resources, wellness, financial assistance resources for emergencies, employment, tuition assistance, etc. The sessions are offered on the third Tuesday of each month in the evening. Staff will provide information on how to navigate services. This will also provide a space for participants to inquire about their resource needs. In addition, this will be an opportunity for participants to learn about the services offered by the Resident Services Division. You must register online to participate.
