Job Description:

Salary Commensurate with Experience

This position works in conjunction with all HOC Divisions and reports to the Events Manager. Plans, coordinates and implements a variety of special events to include, but not limited to: Conferences; General Staff Meetings; Staff Appreciation events; Town Hall Meetings; Bring Your Child to Work Day; and other events as assigned. Identifies agency needs relating to production of events. Recruits, screens and places staff volunteers on an event committee to meet monthly. Recommends event budget; Develops and ensures compliance with building permits; program policies and procedures; maintains and inputs data to track and report on attendance, venues and guest speakers at events. Liaisons with various non-profit and public agencies for recruitment of venues, speakers, donations and other benefits to customers and staff within HOC. Designs, distributes and collects evaluation forms to measure effectiveness and quality of events from audience perspective.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Events Management, Hospitality, Public Affairs, Human Services, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years related experience.
  • Must have good computer skills (Word & Excel).
  • Must possess good oral and written communication skills.
  • Must have the ability to meet deadlines and manage event requirements.
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends.
  • Must have the ability to relate with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
  • Must have the ability to work independently and exercise good judgment and discretion.
  • Must have good driving record and clearance to drive agency vehicles.
